Hi, I’m Ché
A movement mentor, using various forms of mobility to help people reconnect to their bodies, guiding them through courage & consistency towards wholeness

I love to learn, and the thing I’ve learned most to my core is that our differences are what sets us apart. Our bodies are so diverse that no ‘formula’ can truly sustain our changing bodies.
True personal freedom in movement lies on the other side of gradual, consistent, joyful steps.
HOW I GOT HERE
I got tired of being uncomfortable in my own skin, to be completely honest.
I grew up in a household where my father never withheld any food item from us, because he had grown up in abject poverty. At the same time, he had sustained major injuries from sport. My mom was a personal trainer and gym enthusiast since my birth. He had pain when he moved. She was always moving. They ate very differently. I was in the uncomfortable middle. I loved sport, but always had sore joints and gut pain. And I could never seem to shake the podge, even despite 2-3 hours in the gym, 5 days a week in high school.
By 27, I had had a knee op, and by 31, had two daughters with severe allergies I had no frame of reference for! Real post-natal depression, income challenges and sheer desperation led me to dig my way out of the dark by researching, reading, talking with professionals, listening to podcasts and ending up with so much information in my head that I was more desperate than ever. Overwhelm. Tears. Conflict inside.
What I learned through those years was the priceless skill of listening to my own body. I began to drop what wasn’t “true” for me, or my family, and to try what worked for us. We unapologetically healed, starting with my kids’ allergies, my gut and my joints. To this day this approach has consistently served every member of our 5-person household.
This freedom has been indispensable!
WHAT IS MOVEMENT?
All of life is movement
From sitting up in bed, to breathing, getting dressed, playing with your kids, driving your car, going for a walk, doing a dance class and even running a marathon – all of life is movement!
The definition of ‘movement’, to me, is awareness of the connection between what your body is busy with and how it will be affected by it.
Incomparably more can be accomplished in five conscious minutes, than in an hour of blindly pushing yourself. ‘How’ we move is where the key lies.
My Approach
HOW DO YOU GET ON THE SAME PAGE AS YOUR OWN BODY?
A lifetime of dancing various street styles, from funk to club styles, to basic break dancing, choreography and teaching technique in class settings has given me a broad spectrum of insight into a vast array of different bodies, minds and needs.
Using several ‘alternative’ and ‘classical’ approaches to strength, flexibility and rehabilitative movement, which do not involve dance, I’ve seen that a balanced and consistent approach is possible for almost anyone who wants to work on wellness for their body.
Joy in exercise is a huge factor in bringing about lasting change in a person’s body, and helping equip them to live a strong and confident life in their own skin.
THE COMPANIONS OF EXERCISE THAT MAKE IT EFFECTIVE
There is never just one thing to be done – all of life is integrated. This is shows in our schedules, on our plates and in our social lives. Exercise is no different!
Our stress levels, self-image, body tension, injuries, joints, digestion, posture, breathing, confidence and awareness play pivotal roles in helping or hindering our relationship or mindset around movement.
All of life is integrated, and our approach to exercise needs to take these factors into account. The good news is that, with a little guidance and fresh perspective, this is not only possible but simpler than you think.
WHAT BRINGS ME JOY

- A thick, house beat, my sneakers and time
- Jazz, while crafting a satisfying dinner
- A perfectly pulled shot by a skilled barista & books
- The smell of rain in the bush
- When someone has a real moment of lucidity
